Background:
Christine Dickason is a senior analyst in the Policy and Evaluation practice area at Bellwether.
Prior to joining Bellwether, Christine was a doctoral researcher at Vanderbilt University, where she led mixed methods and qualitative projects evaluating supplementary promise programs in Tennessee, exploring the experiences of Black school counselors, and assisting on studies related to diversity in higher education and test-optional policies.
While completing her doctorate, she also served as the research director and senior communications adviser for the “She Pivots” podcast, and as an editorial assistant for Massachusetts Institute of Technology’s “Education Finance and Policy” journal. Previously, Christine worked in Washington, D.C., in a variety of governmental and nonprofit organizations, including The White House Office of the First Lady, the Government Accountability Office, the Center for American Progress, and the Global Development Incubator.
Christine holds a bachelor’s degree in public policy from the University of Mississippi, a master’s degree in public policy from The George Washington University, and a doctorate in education policy from Vanderbilt University.
Why I do this work:
I grew up with access to a strong public education system, something I soon learned was a privilege not afforded to many students in our country. I do this work to advance a more just, equitable education system — one that expands opportunity and betters outcomes for those who have been systematically marginalized.
