It’s time to send in your applicationĀ for our sixth Better Blogging session, a new media training designed for current and aspiring education bloggers. It will be held February 10-11, 2016 in Washington, D.C.
Are you active on a personal or professional blog or considering starting one? Do you want your voice on education issues heard online? Better Blogging aims to build participantsā€™ tactical and writing skills, advancing a bloggerā€™s ability to express and promote important ideas in the education landscape. Our accomplished roster of coaches includes Pulitzer Prize winners, editors at leading national publications, experienced education writers, as well as social media professionals with deep experience in media marketing.
Here’s what Ari Kiener of MinnCAN, who attended our December session, has to say about the training:

ā€œThe Better Blogging training should be required professional development not only for education bloggers but also communications professionals. While the training covered what I expected, like tips on topics ranging from headline writing to social media promotion, it also offered me strategic advising on how to completely rethink my organization’s blogging fellowship and guest blogging program, as well as our approach to communications more broadly. Since I attended the training, we have become much more thoughtful about the voices and ideas we elevate–on our blog and beyond.ā€Ā

The training is free, but participants must cover their travel and lodging costs. A small stipend may be available based on demonstrated need.Ā The deadline for application submission is December 21, 2015.
